As dusk falls, the magic happens! Bands come down the street playing favorite Christmas songs with tiny white twinkly lights reflecting in the bright polished brash. Dancers sway to music. Floats loom from the night, huge and ethereal, with more and more lights that add to the mysteries and magic of Christmas legends and solstice dreams.
The annual "Catch the Glow" parade caps a day of full activity in downtown Estes Park, held each year the day after Thanksgiving. With holiday music broadcast outdoors throughout the town helping set the scene, visitors can interact with strolling animal characters, enjoy free hayrides and visit with Santa Claus throughout the day. Daytime activities begin at noon; parade begins at 5:30 pm. All activities are free.
It’s just the beginning of a full month of special events in this mountain village. Among the many activities: the Holiday House Christmas Bazaar, Quota Club Home Tour, a Holiday Art Walk and musical concerts from the Estes Park Music Festival that are sure to please.
